Ok, Ok, so no one calls her Joan Marie but her mom and her grandfather Bob Tucker. Joanie is our toastmistress this year. A native of St. Louis, she has been around fandom for many years. A few years ago she became the President of First Fandom, a prestigious organization of fans and writers. She was guest liaison for Archon for many years and has worked on conventions through out the country. She has pulled some really famous practical jokes on several well known fans and authors over the years but I promised not to sell the pictures for reason of health. Mine!!!!. Her favorite books are the old space operas of the 30's -50's. Her favorite artists include but not limited to Frank Kelly Freas, Jon Sies, Jon Stadter and Mitch Bently. She has a paralegal degree, a degree in English and part of a chef's degree. (Say how come I only get burgers and spaghetti when I come over for dinner?) She is married to the local fan attorney Jim Knappenberger, who is a really great guy even if you don't need an attorney at 3am at a con. Joanie also has a little girl named Melissa that is 8 (Hey, Melissa comes up to your chin! ) She will be bigger than Joanie soon. She's not little any more.
